What are Kokken?

Cocci, also called cocci and in Latin coccus, are spherical bacteria. Each time after repeated division from the original mother cell, the daughter cells remain together in a manner characteristic of each coccus species. Thus, goblins can be loose, or in chains (e.g. Streptococcus Streptococcus). Cells can also form groups (grapevine form in Staphylococcus Staphylococcus). But so can two by two (duplococci, for example, gonococcal Neisseria gonorrhoeae).
