What is LCHV?

LCHV stands for National Center for Hygiene and Safety and is a knowledge center developed for hygiene and infection prevention. It draws up hygiene guidelines for various sectors; nurseries, elementary school, events, campsites, saunas, home care, tattoo shops, ambulance services and prisons. The focus within these guidelines is in the areas of animal pest control, personal hygiene, building and furnishing, cleaning and legionella prevention. LCHV is part of RIVM’s Center for Infectious Disease Control. It provides training to Municipal Health Departments and was established in 2003. This is to improve quality and THZ (technical hygiene care). It is a project of the GGD Netherlands.
